I bought the HD pump designed for airing the shocks. It adapts/screws nicely to the air valve and is small and simple to use...My problem is when I unscrew it to remove it, the air bleeds out during the process....So what am I doing wrong? My bicycle pump works well but I have to stop and gauge the pressure because it doesn't have the built in pressure gauge. How are others dong this?

My Harley pump does not loose more than a pound of air when unscrewing it from the valve stem. You may have a defective pump. Make sure you are not accidentally squeezing the bleed valve while unscrewing the hose. I did that once.

Return it 'Its defective, I've been using one for four years, Unscrews with no air loss every time.

Just remember if your lowering the air pressure in the shocks ' It is recommended to pump it up a few pounds before you bleed air out, So as to clear oil in the air line...

I have a small hand pump not hd but I lose about .5- 1 lbs when taking it off fitting ,,, I think you just need to do it a few times and check pressure - then if needed add the extra 1 lb. or 2 lbs. add it,,, leak it,,cap it and go on and enjoy your ride:)... keep it simple - best of luck
