Hi all.

I'm new here and love the site. Seems like there are lots of great people here.

I have a brand new 2016 Tri Glide (Vivid Black). I love it but I'm looking for ways to make it more feminine. What have you done to "girl up" your trike? Pictures would be awesome.

Thanks.
Carol

My wife is "just" the back seat rider, but the only thing she tells me she wants is all the chrome I can add. She wants BLING. And isn't black the only color they make?

Go to the HD site and search "Diamond Ice".

You can also put some leather fringe throttle and lever covers on your trike and even add charms, beads and/or feathers to the individual leather strands. Fox Creek Leather has several colors to choose from.

Enjoy your trike and ride safe.

WELCOME to the wonderful world of Triking and to this board that has lots of friendly and helpful folks with a ton of invaluable information.

I am just a guy, so I probably don't have any real good "girl up" advise. And suggestions would depend on who you want to impress.....the guys, or other girls?

YOU will be the center of attention, just by riding the Trike :D But if you want to feminize and add a bit of unique girly fu fu to the mix, you might consider taking your baby to a pin stripper and have them personalize your Trike with some of your favorite color accents. Pink and Black is sexy :p

As for pics, this is my Vivid Black Beauty named CAT just this past week in the local mountains.

welcome aboard. A lady riding her own ride speaks all for itself. My wife ride a Stallion so pictures won't help alot. She has some pin stripping and turtles painted on. She adds seasonal decor to the roll bar.

Welcome to Trike Talk Carl. I ride a 2013 110th Anniversary Tri-Glide (bronze/black). I have the Diamond Ice (HD) bling around all my gauges and radio....fringe on clutch and brake levers and fender bras (HD) on rear fenders....eagle w/wings decal across front fairing (Cycle Gear) and a racoon tail (Ebay) tied to the rear luggage rack (my signature)...everyone knows me/trike...they may not know my name, but they know the Tri-Glide. I always wear color-coordinated outfits (jackets/pants/boots/jeans/helmet) gear when I ride (personal thingy).

like BOXX3R suggested, find a local pinstriper, ask your friends or local custom shops. Pink pinstripes would look great, there is a lot of areas for a good striper to use & make sure to look at some of his/her work. I plan to have more pinstripes done on my Vivid Black 2011 TG, just not pink one!:D

My my dealer also had a silver Tri Glide but I liked the black better.

Thanks. My Harley dealer has a pin stripe guy that sets up shop at their weekend gatherings. Next time I'm there I'll have to check out his work.

Thanks. This is what I'm aiming for. People see "Bear" and know it's me. I just ordered the fender bras a couple days ago.

Question about pin striping. Does it hold up well? Would I have to take special care when I washed my trike?

Pin Stripe Guy

TGCarol,

"Thanks. My Harley dealer has a pin stripe guy that sets up shop at their weekend gatherings. Next time I'm there I'll have to check out his work."

You are probably referring to Dan & Gina Kite out of Jacksonville. They do very good work and also come to Spacecoast Harley in Palm Bay, FL. (630) 660-9916

Regards .....

Lever cover question

Those of you with lever covers....do they affect the operation of the lever? Also, do they slip at all?

I have passed Barbara in my truck and on my TG on the freeway and back roads many many times the last few years, and always know immediately whom I am I seeing. That tail flying in the wind behind her makes me smile. If I drive or ride past a bunch of bikes and Trikes parked somewhere, I can always pick hers out of the crowd. She always rides with style fer sure. ThumbUp

Actually I think his name is Larry Hero. I can't find a website for him. Bike week is coming up. I'm sure there will be a lot of artists there. Thanks for recommending Dan and Gina Kite. I'll check into their work.

I never noticed any affect on the lever operation when I had them but I really appreciated them when I wore fingerless gloves.

I did have the 12" ones which are considered to be short and I bought the higher quality ones, not the inexpensive hard leather ones. I do remember that I followed the instructions that came with them which called for a dab of some type of adhesive, but I don't remember what it was. I think it was more to hold them in place while I laced them.

Ditto!!!

+1 fuzz what said I'm sure being a woman you know what your tastes are follow them. And welcome a great group of people lurk around :cxtv: these here threads, all willing to answer questions and help if possible again welcome. ThumbUp ride safely fearless

PS I have been told Black Harley's are fastest!!! :AGGHH:

Have the pin striping done in pink, what ever your decision I highly recommend clear coat over striping for added protection.

Thanks for this.

Thanks Fearless. Nice trike :D. I agree. The black ones are the fastest :pepper:

"OK. Thanks. Were these the Fox Creek ones you mentioned?"

Yes, Carol they were. I had black ones on a black Sportster when I was a young lady.

I saw a black tri glide done with some pink pinstriping that looked real nice.

Definitely going to get some pin striping done. I'm on the fence about pink though. Not really me.

I have the (fringed) level covers on clutch and brake levers. On my TG, the clutch cover doesn't allow the clutch from engaging...have to start mine in neutral....no biggie...no slipping....those suckers are on tight. ThumbUp

Ah, thanks for your kind words Trent :clapping:. I can pick you and your TG out in a rain storm....you're the one not wearing a coat (lol)!!! :gah:

Here's a few ideas on colors. Not a trike but you can get the idea of it.

Bling

Hey Carol,

Just my .02 here but depending on what kind of money you want to spend you coould look into the diamond cutting of some of your floor boards, jugs(BIKE's) which does make a really nice statement.
The jugs being cut will also aid the cooling of the engine some.

RIDE SAFE and FREE

So far.....

Started some of the "girling up".

image.jpeg

Here is the lever fringe I put on this weekend. I may cut it shorter.

image.jpeg

I got these chrome axle nut covers for the front. Seemed like an easy thing for me to do but I'm having a problem installing them.

image.jpeg

This piece of metal is stopping the cover from fitting over the nut. I think it's part of the cotter pin. Any ideas?

Thanks everyone.
Carol

I suggest you don't cut the fringe until you try this. Tie a knot in it, add a silver charm or bead, tie another knot.

I am partial to the square silver beads with letters on them. I had my name on mine, one letter on each fringe starting from the top and moving down just a tad with each letter.
