Rear brake spring clips loose and rattle!

I haven't been on this site for sometime. So I will do my best to explain my rear brake issue.

The break pads (41300033) kit includes spring clips (41300046). These spring clips come loose and while riding they make a tattling sound like shacking coins in a tin can. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Jim,
I have a 2014 and if I noticed you have a 2018, correct? I believe our brakes are typical, with the exception that you have ABS & my 2014 does not.

Those spring clips should not come loose and the pads hold them in place.

They are also only installed in the upper groove. (Not the bottom)

When I was in transition of mine, I did a bunch of videos including rear brakes.
Hopefully the video may help on a visual.
(I honestly don’t know how much of a difference between the 2014-2018 models with our linked brakes, other than ABS).

It's been awhile since I have changed the pads on the rear, but don't those clips sit in a slot in the calipers then the pads slide into the clips when inserted into the calipers?
If installed correctly they should not come loose. The pads hold them in place. I might be wrong its been 3 years since I changed rear pads.

When's the last time you did a brake job? How do you know its the clips making the noise? Have you jacked up the rear end and turned the wheels? If the brakes were installed properly..I think only excessive heat/ worn pads/ components could be making noise.How do you know its not the axle bearings?
