I've been checking out different sets of slip on mufflers on line. My question is some are available with 2", 2.25" and 2.5" baffles. Which one of these would typically be louder? For most of the summer I leave my house at 3:30 A.M. So I don't want to be obnoxiously loud. Thanks

Typically the larger diameter baffles are going to be louder, but that is not always the determining factor. The design of various baffles varies a lot by manufacturer. Some have more fiberglass packing, some have less or none at all. Most of the more popular slip ons are posted on youtube so you can go there and check them out or Google the models you are considering and read reviews on the Harley forums.

I have true duels cat-less [Rush] and rush slip-ons 175's For me their way too loud!
And i go out every morning at 6-6:30 So i put a set of DK's Thunder Torques to tone it down.. Whats loud for for some might not be for others.. i.e. My Son thought they were perfect without the Thunder Torques..

That's actually a good recommendation if you wind up with pipes that are louder than you like. Kevin's patented Thunder Torques will quieten it up and it's dyno proven to add a bit of HP. At just $18.95 they are a bargain.
