Front spring ?'s

I think I need to change the fork springs now that I have a trike.I would like to get the front up a little and take some dive out.I put progressive springs in a motortrike my wife had 15 years ago.What is recommended for the Roadsmith kit with a 6 deg rake on a 2010 goldwing? Also what forkbrace is recommended ?

You can also use fork extenders to raise front without stiffening fork springs which can result in rough ride. My installer put 2 1/2" in my 6 degree rake but they got removed and 1" used. I'm changing back to 2 1/2" in near future when I have my Traxxion forks serviced.

Fork brace, IMO, should be one of the adjustable units. A fixed unit cannot account for any variance in your fork setup and could put them in a bind. I have the Traxxion fork brace and I think Kuryaken makes one.

Even with the progressive springs (I have them) in the front sags David. I've been pondering that issue but haven't found a solution. Going to the longer caps would help for sure. I read somewhere about using non progressive heavy duty springs. I'm still considering that...

I agree about the adjustable brace. Any fixed brace could potentially mess up the inner working of what ever forks you have. Take a look at the front wheel mounting procedure for the GL1800 and you will see the likelihood of varying fork positions. If you don't allow/compensate for that then the forks have to be getting forced into unnatural position. :xszpv::xszpv:

I have the longer tube caps,but am still low in the front.My headlight shines on the ground,I have not adjusted it up yet.Now this most likely is because the back of the trike is higher than it was before the conversion .

I am wondering about your cartridge mod.How well does it work with the rake kit? I thought I had read,(in the past) that they were not recommended with a rake kit. maybe that is wrong info or I don't remember correctly.

You are thinking of the Progressive Monotube cartridges. I have heard they can be used with raked front ends but don't quote me on that. Call Progressive directly and get it from the horses' mouth.

Traxxion AK-20 cartridges are whole different animal. Difference from stock is night and day!
